Boys Noize – Oi Oi Oi

Wow. Production, how are you? How are you doing after being totally exploited? You’re good? Well, you sound good.

Boys Noize shreds the light between the fast forward, rewind style of overproduction techno and the bass-bass of dub/trancestep. If you’re not really screwed in for this type of music, you could be left behind rather quickly.

This stuff gets you going. It’s kind of Crystal Castles on speed with the flange of more underneath raspy computer vibes. Its pretty gnarly, strap in.

Calvin Harris – Ready for the Weekend

If you don’t like this, you don’t like to party. Or have a good time. Or smile.

Calvin Harris is simply brilliant in every step of the way. He’s just an unreal producer, catchy song writer, and everything about his music keeps you going.

If you haven’t heard of him, hurry up. Its that good.

Benny Benassi – The Best of Benny Benassi

This man is SO much more the Satisfaction. He is I Love My Sex, Put Your Hands Up… He’s got everything in his bag of tricks. This collection of all his songs is unreal to say the least, and I love how he’s grown. He introduced me to the techno world, and brought me along.

What else can be said? It’s obvious that the connection between him and the techno world is invaluable. He’s great.

The Bloody Beetroots – Romborama

Woo. Talk about a party. I really enjoyed this album. It had heavy ferocity behind the distinguishing sounds of progressive techno. Warp 1.9 got a lot of play nationally, but there were a lot better songs all over the place.

This cd is unbelievable for how hard it is to get this type of music right. It has creative drive and shows a strong understanding for how to put something together that sounds right and not repetitive. Cheers to ‘roots, they killed it.
